Welcome to Sacramento Area Tennis Association (SATA). Our mission is to promote community tennis for people of all ages whether new to tennis, new to the Sacramento area, or those already part of the SATA family. SATA tennis is competitive, fun, social, and low cost. It’s a great way to meet people, develop your tennis skills, and be part of a team. We are a non-profit organization offering tennis through three main branches:
Adult Leagues, Junior Grand Prix Tournaments, and Community Outreach.
Adult Leagues – SATA offers Adult Leagues for 18 and over players through our member parks and clubs. Approximately 2,500 tennis players join teams each season at various levels from 3.0 to 4.5 and up to 9.0 combo in women’s, men’s, and mixed leagues. There are three main league seasons: Spring, Summer, and Fall. Additionally, individuals can sign up for flex leagues in both singles and doubles during Winter and Summer league enrollment.
Junior Grand Prix Tournaments – Get your children hooked on tennis. Our member parks and clubs will be hosting junior tournaments throughout the greater Sacramento area with a Finals Tournament in November for the eight high point earning competitors. Junior players compete in age group 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18 and under categories. Points are earned cumulatively throughout the year and posted to our website for all players to view. For further information, check “Jr Grand Prix” on this website to view “Schedule”, “Standings”, and “Photo Gallery.”
Community Outreach – Over the past years SATA has supported boys and girls tennis programs at several local high schools. We have collected slightly used tennis racquets, shoes, and clothing from SATA players and local businesses and distributed to high school players in need. Our volunteers re-string, replace grips, and over grips on every racquet. We also provide items such as, new balls and team shirts. Our volunteers have a great time hitting with players at practice and cheering the team on during matches. SATA also offers grants to high school players so that they may participate in SATA Grand Prix and USTA tournaments.
Thanks for checking the sactennis.org website. Hope to see you on the courts!
