Dirk Pearson
President
Dirk is from Germany originally and has been playing tennis since the 1970’s. He played all four years in high school in the bay area before moving the Sacramento Valley for college: Go Aggies . He has been playing USTA and SATA both mixed and men’s for the last 7 years and has captained several teams. He has completed multiple marathons including Boston. Occupationally, he has been in the healthcare field in both the private and public sector for 30 years, and currently works for the Department of Health Care Services.
Rob Reis
Vice President
Rob began his interest in tennis growing up in Florida, playing occasionally with his long-time friends. Having moved to California in 1991, he played off and on again, but has played more steadily during the past 7 years. Rob is a retired licensed Civil Engineer living in Serrano, El Dorado Hills, and has enjoyed being a SATA Captain for Serrano Country Club for both Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles teams for the past two years. His passion for tennis makes volunteering as a SATA Board Member an easy choice. He is looking forward to assisting in promoting SATA activities.
Susan Wheatley
Treasurer

Susan recently moved to Sacramento (from the Bay Area) and loves her new hometown. She plays on several teams at Rio del Oro and is happy to be getting involved with SATA as both a captain and a Board member. Susan picked up tennis as an “older” adult and has daughter who played junior tournaments and in high school; she looks forward to supporting tennis at all ages in our community. Susan is retired from the financial services industry and has served as a volunteer treasurer on previous boards.

Diane Rodes
Secretary
Diane Rodes recently joined SATA’s Board in 2022 and assumed the role of Secretary. She has been playing tennis for the past ten years and is a member of Broadstone’s Spare Time Club. Most recently, Diane retired from her career as a Senior Human Resources Director with a healthcare company. As a new Board member, Diane is excited about the opportunity to meet new players and become more involved with the SATA tennis community.
Colleen Buck
Board Member at Large
Colleen is SATA’s 2022 Board Treasurer. She has been playing tennis for about eight years and is a member at Spare Time’s Johnson Ranch Sports Club where she has captained many different teams over the years. She currently owns a retained executive search firm – Insight Executive Search Partners, Inc.
Greta Mac Donald
Board Member at Large, Communications Chair
Greta has played tennis for over 30 years and currently plays for Arden Hills’ interclub team. She’s a mother of two beginning tennis players and works as an independent contractor in government audits and program evaluation.
Dexter Fong, USTPA Master Pro Certified
Board Member at Large, Jr. Grand Prix Chair
Dexter has been teaching tennis for over 44 years and has personally coached hundreds of students who have achieved local SATA to USTA sectional and national rankings. He founded the USTA Sacramento Summer Junior Team tennis in the 1980s and was its first Summer Junior Team League Coordinator.  Dexter is now our Jr Grand Prix Coordinator.
Jo Wallace Abbie
Board Member at Large

Jo has played tennis on SATA teams as a member of Sierra View Country Club for 7 years, and loves not only the competition but the wonderful friends she has made through tennis.
She is a retired Grammy finalist music educator, and currently plays violin in the Folsom Lake Symphony.

SATA’s Interclub League Coordinators

Kelly Downey

Kelley has been playing tennis since 2012 and has captained/co-captained 13 times at her home club, Rio Del Oro. She is a wife and mother of 3 (almost) grown children. Kelley is an avid reader, hiker and loves horror movies.

Chris Modin
Chris Modin has been of our Interclub coordinators since 2004 and she is also the Top Dog coordinator. Chris has been playing tennis since 1979.
Lynda Purser

Lynda has been playing tennis for over 40 years.  She is a retired teacher, and is enjoying traveling and playing more tennis.  She began playing in SATA leagues in 2006, and enjoys being a SATA coordinator and supporting the tennis community in the Sacramento area.
