Tyler Edwards-Lohse
President

An avid tennis player who enjoys getting involved, Tyler is pleased to join the SATA board as its new president. He started playing tennis in the 7th grade and was on his high school tennis team. Over the years, he has played at many clubs, including San Francisco Tennis Club, and more recently, Natomas Racquet Club and Rio Del Oro. He joined a SATA team from West Sacramento just as the pandemic began.

Tyler has enjoyed many years of non-profit service as both a volunteer and board member. For example, he volunteered for Project Angel Food in West Hollywood during its first year as a non-profit and at Meals on Wheels in San Francisco delivering food to those in need.

 

Among other LBGTQ organizations, Tyler notably chaired the 25th Anniversary Party and Fundraiser for the Sacramento International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival and went on to serve as President after his husband, the then-President, passed away from cancer. During his term he expanded the festival’s program to include late night films and added more days to the event. Tyler has also served on many Homeowner Owner Associations as Secretary and Treasurer.

Joe Ayala
Vice President
Joe is SATA’s 2022 Board Vice President. He is a long time tennis enthusiast, having played since high school and in various tournaments and leagues, including those organized by SATA. He is a retired state attorney and is active with different nonprofit organizations. Joe currently plays out of McKinley Park and hopes to promote SATA’s high school tennis program.
Colleen Buck
Treasurer
Colleen is SATA’s 2022 Board Treasurer. She has been playing tennis for about eight years and is a member at Spare Time’s Johnson Ranch Sports Club where she has captained many different teams over the years. She currently owns a retained executive search firm – Insight Executive Search Partners, Inc.

Annette Marteeny Kitowski
Board Member
Annette has been playing tennis off and on most of her life. Most recently she retired in 2014 and has been a member at Spare Time’s Rio Del Oro Sports Club playing on a more consistent basis and has participated in SATA league play since 2015.
Diane Rodes
Secretary
Diane Rodes recently joined SATA’s Board in 2022 and assumed the role of Secretary. She has been playing tennis for the past ten years and is a member of Broadstone’s Spare Time Club. Most recently, Diane retired from her career as a Senior Human Resources Director with a healthcare company. As a new Board member, Diane is excited about the opportunity to meet new players and become more involved with the SATA tennis community.

Greta Macdonald
Communications Chair
Greta has played tennis for over 30 years and currently plays for Arden Hills’ interclub team. She’s a mother of two beginning tennis players and works as an independent contractor in government audits and program evaluation.
Dexter Fong, USPTA Master Pro Certified
Jr. Grand Prix Coordinator
Dexter has been teaching tennis for over 44 years and has personally coached hundreds of students who have achieved local SATA to USTA sectional and national rankings. He founded the USTA Sacramento Summer Junior Team tennis in the 1980s and was its first Summer Junior Team League Coordinator.  Dexter is now our Jr Grand Prix Coordinator.

SATA’s Interclub League Coordinators

Cecelia Zimmerling
Cecelia has been a SATA Interclub coordinator for over 10 years. She has also been on the SATA Board in the past and present for over 5 years. Cecelia brings a wealth of knowledge to her position as she is an Interclub Coordinator and also serves as the bookkeeper for Interclub.
Kelly Downey

Kelley has been playing tennis since 2012 and has captained/co-captained 13 times at her home club, Rio Del Oro. She is a wife and mother of 3 (almost) grown children. Kelley is an avid reader, hiker and loves horror movies.

Chris Modin
Chris Modin has been of our Interclub coordinators since 2004 and she is also the Top Dog coordinator. Chris has been playing tennis since 1979.
